Michael is a managing partner on the Global Innovation strategy and a co-portfolio manager on the Technology Innovators strategy. Together with Barron Martin, he serves as an investment decision-maker for the Global Innovation strategy. Michael joined Sands Capital in 2011. He has significant experience analyzing and investing in global businesses across sectors, with a focus on technology-enabled businesses in multiple subsegments of information technology. Michael has deep knowledge of enterprise software, social media, and semiconductors and has led investments in numerous public and private holdings at Sands Capital, such as ARM, ASML, Facebook (Meta Platforms), Gusto, Klaviyo, Salesforce, Snowflake, Snyk, OneTrust, and Workday. Before joining Sands Capital, Michael was an equity research analyst, covering enterprise software at the Friedman, Billings, Ramsey Group (now B. Riley Financial). Michael received an MBA from the George Washington University and bachelor’s degrees in business administration and biological sciences from the University of Redlands.
