Jamey is a partner and portfolio manager at Sands Capital Horizons. He joined Sands Capital in 2025.
Before joining the firm, Jamey was the founder and managing member of Jocassee Quantitative, overseeing all aspects of the company. Prior to founding Jocassee, he was a managing director at Blackstone, where he built and led a team managing quantitative strategies across a range of asset classes and geographies. Earlier in his career, Jamey spent five years at Citadel (formerly known as Citadel Investment Group), serving as co-head of global credit and head of quantitative credit. He was also a member on Citadel’s portfolio committee. Jamey began his investment career at King Street Capital Management trading structured credit products.
Jamey earned a PhD in operations research and financial engineering from Princeton University and a BS in systems engineering from the University of Virginia. Since 2013, Jamey has served as an adjunct professor in systems engineering at the University of Virginia, where he teaches financial mathematics and advanced statistical modeling.
